Sometimes, you get the best light if you go out in the worst conditions.
It was a sub zero night in January and I was feeling the impact of some cabin fever. We had been getting pummeled by a snow storm here in Boulder and I knew I was missing out on some great photography options. I strapped on layer after layer and grabbed my tripod and Nikon D850 and walked a mile and a half to NCAR, a Boulder staple. The light was absolutely surreal. There wasn’t a single visible color aside from beautiful shades of brown. These photos are full color. What I mean is I didn’t shift these into monochrome, this is what they looked like out of the camera.
